Santa Claus, forgoing his sleigh in favor of a ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Police escort, made an early appearance on campus December 6 when he dropped by ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½â€™s annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on the Plaza at O’Neill Library.

Under the gaze of a certain (impressively-sized) red-nosed reindeer, the festivities also featured a Christmas village with games and ornament decorating, a replica ice sculpture of Gasson Hall, hot chocolate and cookies for revelers, and performances by ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ musical groups, including the Dynamics, Bostonians, Heightsmen, Sharps, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Bells, Liturgy Arts Group, and Madrigals. In addition, the Campus Activities Board had a Christmas card-writing station where students could create holiday messages to send to hospitalized children.
