The fifth annual Boston College Diversity and Inclusion Summit will take place on May 20, the Office of Institutional Diversity has announced. This year’s event, “Towards Inclusive Excellence,” will be held in a modified virtual format due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Each year, the summit brings together Ҵý administrators, faculty, and staff to reflect on and discuss issues related to race and identity at the University. The daylong event typically includes a keynote address, panel discussions, and break-out sessions; past themes have included “Transformational Dialogue” and “Learn, Reflect, Engage.”

“We believe that it is vital to continue to keep diversity, equity, and inclusion at the forefront as we move through these challenging and new times,” said OID Executive Director Patricia Lowe.  “Offering the summit virtually allows us to do so in an accessible and safe manner.”

Registration for the 2020 summit, along with event details, will be available at the Office for Institutional Diversity website.
