Profile

Elbert Hardeman is an Assistant Vice President and the Operational Risk & Cybersecurity Compliance Officer for the Federal Reserve System – National IT. Hardeman has had a 15-year career at the Federal Reserve, working for the Boston Fed, Cleveland Fed as well as the Richmond Fed. Prior to his current role, Hardeman served as an Assistant Vice President of Information Technology and Resilience and was the Business Continuity Officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland,  prior to that role, he served as the Deputy Information Security Officer (ISO) in the Federal Reserve National IT Information Security Office. Hardeman also served as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for two U.S. Treasury payment applications at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Hardeman worked as an IT consultant with Deloitte in New York City. Hardeman also served as a Peace Corp Volunteer in Morocco. Hardeman currently serves on the board of the Boston Debate League, an after-school debate program in Boston. 

Hardeman has earned a bachelor’s degree in business – Management Information Systems from California Polytechnic State University, a Master's in Business Administration (M.B.A.), and a Master's in Cybersecurity, Risk and Governance from Boston College. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and a proud Eagle Scout.
