Hugo Simões is a 3rd year PhD student in Culture Studies with a focus on Literature at the Catholic University of Portugal. He is a writer and translator and has experience in theater. Hugo received a Bachelor’s Degree from the Faculty of Law in 2015 from the University of Lisbon, Portugal. He graduated from his MA summa cum laude (2018) with a thesis on the existential aspects of humor, particularly in the works of Hector Hugh Munro, Monty Python and Douglas Adams. He is researching Wodehouse’s Jeeves series as part of his thesis, drawing from theories in humor literature.
