Housing Justice Clinic
Ana Rivera joined the faculty of Boston College Law School in the fall 2024 as an associate clinical professor and director of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Law’s Housing Justice Clinic. In this role, Rivera supervises and supports law students in their representation of tenants facing housing insecurity – helping students learn and practice core litigation skills, hone ethical and professional mindsets, and gain substantive knowledge in housing law. With her housing work, Rivera also seeks to advance social justice for low-income and underrepresented tenants and communities, assisting local community organizations with reform and community education efforts.
Prior to joining ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Law’s faculty, Rivera was on the faculty of the Northeastern University School of Law, where she founded and directed the Housing Rights Advocacy Clinic. She also served as a faculty fellow at New England Law | Boston, where she taught Property Law to first-year students and Negotiation to upper-level students.
Rivera practiced as a litigator at firms in Boston, including Peabody & Arnold and Todd & Weld, before beginning teaching. In her private practice, she focused on commercial disputes, employment law, and insurance defense. Upon graduating with a JD from ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Law, she served as a law clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court.
