Claire Madden

Profile

Claire Madden, LICSW, is a psychiatric social worker and supervisor at Boston Medical Center where she splits her time between the Outpatient Behavioral Health and Geriatric Outpatient Clinics. She previously spent twelve years at Management Sciences for Health in the Boston area, serving as an international health management consultant in Francophone Africa and Haiti, providing technical assistance on maternal child health and family planning projects. Her experience includes employment at the former Massachusetts Department of Social Services, an internship at Children’s Services of Roxbury and several years teaching Spanish, French, History and social justice at the high school level.

Ms. Madden is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the Boston College School of Social Work (ҴýSSW). She is a member of the ҴýSSW Latino Leadership Initiative (LLI) Community and last year taught Psychosocial Pathology in Spanish at the ҴýSSW. Her areas of clinical expertise include: crisis intervention, trauma, addiction, child welfare, women’s health, adoption and working with refugee/immigrant populations. Ms. Madden is trained in a variety of modalities including: CBT, DBT and motivational interviewing. She provides services in Spanish, English and French to individuals, couples, families and groups. Her approach is varied, incorporates psychodynamic theories, and is based on the biopsychosocial philosophy of clinical care.
