Matt Pecoraro, MSW, is a macro social worker specializing in evidence-based policymaking, complex problem analysis, and strategy design. He currently serves as the founding director of the Evidence-Based Policy Institute (EBPI) at The Baker Center for Children and Families (formerly Judge Baker Children’s Center), overseeing the organization’s child- and family-focused policy work. Under Matt's leadership, EBPI has become a trusted resource for policy leaders locally and nationally, offering a robust portfolio of actionable resources on an array of topics, informing legislation and budgetary action, advancing advocacy and awareness building initiatives, and affecting on-the-ground change.
Since 2019, Matt has been a part-time professor at Boston College, teaching courses in health & mental health policy, complex problem solving, and program design.
Matt holds a B.A. in philosophy from Fairfield University and an M.S.W. from Boston College.
