He was one of four brothers serving his country during World War Two. His parents, Lovis and Anna Luca were born in Italy and came to the United States. They had nine children, five girls and four boys. Joseph was the only brother killed in the war in a plane crash near Soldier Creek in Marshall County, Kentucky when a B-29 he was in broke apart in a violent thunderstorm. Joseph was the Flight Engineer on the B-29. He attended Boston College, School of Science and joined the service on June 15, 1942. (From findagrave.com)
