There are over 55,000 Catholic schools (from K to research universities), in over 200 different countries, and serving some 150 million students. Increasingly, both the faculty and student body are from other or no religious tradition. There was a time when we assumed the Catholic identity of such schools because they were staffed by vowed religious sisters, brothers, and priests, but that day is gone. How do we continue to deliver spiritually-grounded and values-forming education?Â
